Does This Sound Familiar?
So many of the parents and adults I work with recognize themselves somewhere on this list. None of it means anything is wrong with you or your child. It means there is a muscle pattern that can be trained to work differently.
Your child breathes through their mouth, even at rest or during sleep
Your child's tongue rests low, or pushes forward when swallowing
There's noticeable drooling, past the age you'd expect
Jaw tension, clenching, or TMJ discomfort shows up
You or your child snore, or seem restless overnight
Mealtimes are messy, picky, or slower than expected
Teeth feel crowded, or an orthodontic result seems to be shifting back
Speech sounds are a little unclear or hard to pin down
If any of this sounds like your family, a free consultation is a low-pressure way to talk it through.
What Is Myofunctional Therapy?
Myofunctional therapy uses non-invasive, guided exercises for the muscles of the face, mouth, tongue, and neck. The goal is to help these muscles work together as a team, supporting nasal breathing, a more functional resting tongue posture, and a coordinated swallow, so the whole system works in harmony.
Nasal Breathing
Training the body to breathe through the nose, supporting oxygen intake and calmer sleep.
Proper Lip Seal
Helping the lips rest gently closed, supporting facial development and breathing patterns.
Tongue Posture
Guiding the tongue to rest against the roof of the mouth, supporting jaw alignment and facial growth.
Correct Swallowing Pattern
Building a more coordinated swallow, which may reduce oral muscle strain over time.
Why We Look Beyond the Symptom
Snoring, mouth breathing, or an orthodontic result that seems to be relapsing are often signs of an underlying muscle pattern, not isolated problems on their own. Myofunctional therapy looks at how the tongue, lips, cheeks, and airway work together, and helps retrain that pattern over time.
This work is designed to happen alongside your dentist, orthodontist, ENT, speech-language pathologist, or physical therapist, not instead of them. I collaborate with your care team and share updates as needed, so myofunctional therapy supports the care you are already receiving.

Meet Kristina
Hi, I'm Kristina Salazar, the founder of OC Myo Harmony. I've spent more than 16 years as a Registered Dental Hygienist, and I started this practice because I kept seeing the same patterns come through the door, patterns that a typical dental visit doesn't always have time to address.
I'm an Airway Circle member, a 2025 Myo Mentor (MMT), and trained in the Orofacial Complex approach under Kristie Gatto. I bring the same preventive, whole-health mindset to my patients that I use with my own family.
I work with children 6 and older, teens, and adults, in person around Orange County or virtually wherever you are.
